Among the many reasons why Estonia has decided to regulate the online games industry is the fact that this business can help to develop the country economy. To start with, all the online casino operators will have to pay a licence fee, and thereafter they will also have to pay taxes of a 5% of their gross profit.
However, even though this decision can help the country economy, not everybody is happy with the new law, especially the players, who have been restricted the number of online casinos that they will have access to.

ESTONIA REGULATES THE ONLINE GAMING INDUSTRY
During the last months it could be appreciated in all European countries the need to pay more attention to the online games industry, and while some countries have already legalized this sector, others, like for instance Spain, are on its way to do so.
One of the last countries to join the European trend of regularization has been Estonia, which has made the decision based on the profits that this industry can generate for the country. However, so far, it would only be legal for the Estonian to play at online casinos whose servers are located in the country, even though it is expected that they will allow playing at casinos whose servers are located abroad in the near future.
So far, Playtech and Olympic Casino Group are the more benefited with this decision, as they are the only legal providers of online games in the country.
